I don’t know about you, but if you go to a travel agent I always feel a little diddled. It is not just about paying commission and other hidden costs that puts me off, but the affiliated companies that travel agents use. I always feel that everyone is getting a free holiday on what I pay out for. So is finding cheap holidays online that easy.
Well I have spent a while just running a few searches and comparisons, and I have to say that at first this was hard work. Cheap hotels UK came up with hundreds of sites with good holiday packages, that I had to trawl through, and though this was a little novel at first, after a while, I did feel like throwing in the towel and buying my travel agent a present, to try and beg forgiveness. Especially as the refinements on the search options, were not the best by any stretch of the imagination. So searching for cheap hotels and travel deals was a little like finding the best priced apples!
I decided to switch tactics then, and decided to search for a cheap flights. Is it me or is searching for cheap flights a little tricky on some airline sites. The times can be confusing, the check- in options are not that clear, and this cheap flight search, was turning into searching for cheap paracetamol.
Not much luck came when searching for cheap travel insurance. Though at least I did not have to worry too much about checking in and baggage weights, it can be difficult to determine exactly what you are, and are not, covered for. Is the cheaper the insurance a guide, or just a bargain? Cheap travel insurance was a bit of a minefield.
Finding cheap holidays online was not as easy as I thought it would be.
Eventually, I had had enough, and decided to search for cheap holidays, and at first I did not have too much success. What were good prices in some areas, were poor in others, and there did seem to be a certain degree of affiliation between there providers. Fair enough I suppose, but the consumer, or you and I, loose out.
I feel it is only fair to point out that I am not so computer savvy as most people, but nonetheless, I did find several options for each of my searches that felt a little cheaper than what I would have got at the travel agents.

Tips on best cheap holidays in the UK
Finding the best cheap holidays is not as easy as it used to be, but there are places on the web that help you in your search for not only the cheap package holidays, but cheap hotels and cheap flights – you just need to know how to search for them!
If you use a site like www.travelaide.co.uk, you can save so much time searching that you will wonder why you have never used it before! The beauty about sites like Travel Aide is that not only can it save you time like I just mentioned, but it can save you so much money on so many different aspects of your holiday.
The services you can find through a site that does all the work for you include finding cheap flights, hotels, holidays, car hire, travel insurance and much more!
If you think about it, all these websites are doing is saving you time, energy and most importantly money. How would you usually go about searching for a cheap holiday, Google? Your local high-street travel agent? Asking friends what deals they got? However you would do it, I can guarantee it won’t be as effective as searching on a site like Travel Aide or Google and being offered a comparison and list of the best places to go, and the best prices available.
I have checked through several other sites similar to the one I mentioned, and you still have to be careful not to stumble upon a pure marketing site that takes money directly from the hotels etc. just to promote them, as this will not save you money nor will it get you the best possible holiday for your money.
The usual idea that comes to your head when you think of the word ‘cheap’ before flight, holiday or anything else related to travel is probably ‘bad quality’, right? I don’t blame you. However, the goal of these sites is not to offer you the worst possible places at the best prices, it’s to offer you good accommodation in the best areas for the cheapest possible prices –they want you to use the site again, so of course they won’t be recommending poor quality hotels that they themselves wouldn’t think about staying in!
We all know how hard it is to find the best and cheapest car hire companies in the location we are going, don’t we? You usually end up having to accept the first one offered or the first one you see! Through using a site like this you can sift through them and find the cheapest and best solution for your particular needs.
